Haven't been on in a while...

The last couple of days have been crazy and busy and tiring.
Mom recently stopped eating, and her speech isn't very coherent -- though the latter has been true for a while.
Hospice took over Mom's care, and there have been people in and out a lot. Yesterday a social worker was here and saw how tired I was. She called an in-home care giver, who has stayed overnight. I have an assessment with another in home care giver today who is less expensive than the one the social worker called. I also need to cancel the one that has come a couple of times, as they are, while not as expensive as the caregiver that's here, still more expensive than the one that has been coming. I made a phone call a bit ago--I hope it was to the right agency. The name seemed right. I haven't been able to find their papers, so I tried looking them up on line.
One of Mom's friends is coming by today, and possibly another. The one has been coming by most every day, but right now I'm feeling I need some space, so the next time she asks to come over I'm going to decline.
So, that's what's been going on with me. I hope that you all have a great day/evening/etc. in your part of myLot land !

Is the Hospice a non-profit or for profit group?

@xstitcher I know a few people that have to pay for private care. I hope you can find one that suits your needs.

@ElusiveButterfly Hospice is not like private care -- and unfortunately I found out that the in home care giver the social worker got was way too expensive !

Looking after my Mom there was never enough space for me to have as I was living in her house on a temporary amount of time.
I found space though because I really needed but the Social Workers except for one were not very helpful at all and I did nost of the care myself and nearly wore myself into the ground.
Can know how it feels too.
Get as much rest and space as you can.
Its exhausting to say the least.

So sorry you had that experience, @lovingangelsintead .
I am thankful that the majority of people around me have been so helpful. I know what you mean though about wearing yourself into the ground. I am so grateful that the social worker saw that that was what was happening with me.

If you don“t fight to look after yourself first as you have to in the end for as much as you want everything to be right and in order.
That Nurse like the one you have saved my day as I was excluded by one of my Brothers for the fact that I did not live in England and the Doctor refused to work with me on any level at all which I thought was totally daft.
