Windows 7 is still widely used, in spite of Windows 10 free upgrade

I want to point out another fact, and that is, from an article I read just now, about The percentage of users still running Windows 7 OS on their PCs. Simple. The Windows 7 OS is still giving good performance and people don't like change unless they are given a solid reason to.
Microsoft crows that its new software now has 200 million monthly users. Still, that hasn't moved the needle much when it comes to displacing older versions.

I have Windows 7 at work, and if our tech guy will give me some more RAM I'll be content.

@Hannihar -- random access memory (RAM). It's the memory your computer uses during a session, or "temporary" memory (as opposed to the "permanent" memory on the hard drive). It's also a Dodge truck and a Paul McCartney album.

I know everyone needs lots more RAM to run faster and better. That is so certain.

I've got 3 lappies. Two are running on Windows 7 simply because I refuse to part from it. It's by far the best windows OS I've ever had in my opinion. Too bad my most recent one and (multi-media monster) had to come with Windows 10 and I didn't want to change it as all my new software requires the most recent OS for best performance not to mention the most recent hardware and devices and all the updates. I miss using the ol' Win7 as it was just perfect with none of the useless crap I find in Win10. XD

I still use windows 7, its hard to part with something that was or is well built. Before windows 7 I was using Xp which was another good one, in fact I had a virtual xp on my device where I can shift back incase I found 7 hard and not user friendly, I did not find 7 hard to love, in a short span of time I forgot xp.

@lookatdesktop that's right. Windows 7 may no longer have mainstream customer support as of Jan 2015. But an extended support is still available way out into Jan 14, 2020 if I am correct. Microsoft knows a lot of us aren't parting with that OS anytime soon.

@lookatdesktop right on brother, freedom! that's how Microsoft and Apple conduct their business, they discontinue support even if a product is still good that's why they have tons of money.

I am happy for you. We all have a choice. All of us. We can stick with Windows 7 for now, as long as it is working fine, but in the FUTURE, eventually, we might not get the option to use an older version. But for now, as long as that option of and freedom of choice is ours we should make the choice that keeps us happy.

Are you having difficulties with your Windows OS? Since you hate 10, are you able to get back to your favorite OS version?

@lookatdesktop , thinks this is a good article to look at.
After July 29, Windows 10 will no longer be a free upgrade. Here's what that means for users of each version of Windows.

As for me, I can't use Win 10 because it would use to much data.

iPad is a good thing. I have a friend, not a Facebook friend, but a friend I have known his entire lifetime, and he says he was given an iPad and he is having loads of fun with it. He especially loves iTunes.

I've heard that a few people regretted upgrading to Windows 10 for different reasons, so I'm not really surprised many are still using 7. I'm okay with 10 though.

Oh, Windows 10 was a charm. But I like the few features they removed from Windows 7 so since I am back using Windows 7, I will stick with it until a better version of Windows 10 actually gets made.

Yes that's true... Actually mine's windows 7. I don't really mind about the upgrade. Upgraded or not, as long as it serves the purpose then it's fine to me.

The security of your computer is always important. I think updates to Windows 7 will be available until sometime in 2020.
