Tis a sad moment for me

I just found out that a large number of friends I used to have are no longer active on myLot. Some have not returned when the site changed it's direction a few years back. For one thing, it wasn't about the money for me, this site was something I fell back to during and after a day's work. It felt good to talk to old friends. The real reason I was inactive was that I was plunged into a crisis in my family. That took me away from myLot. Crisis after crisis, I was glued to family problems that required my undivided attention. First dad got sick and died, then in 2015 my mom finally came to rest after years of taking care of her. I finally got back to life and tried to pick up the pieces. I had to ditch my job to be fully available for my parents. I did get back on track slowly and had no clue what exactly it was that was missing. For some reason, I was clicking around the web, I somehow found my way back to myLot today. Some surge of energy came from within me. It may have been the excitement that I'm back to where I was happy. The way this site is so different from other social or community sites is that it has quality content. We take time to digest what our friends share on here and we talk to them like real life does it. The slow process is therapeutic. Sets it apart from the hustle and bustle of daily fast track lives. But today I'm sad I no longer see my old friends here. However, it is a pleasant surprise to find new friends on here, and I guess that's a good thing. A spark of hope. :)

I'm glad you made your way back here. I'm sorry about all you have been through and I'm sorry some of your old friends aren't here anymore. However, most of us love making new friends! =) I hope you love being here again like you used to be.

i think most of us would do everything for our family. i like that we have a variety of content here, and the quality of the interaction is different.

Yep, content is definitely different from most social/community sites. That's what I like about the place.

I have had the same issues to deal with, a real sense of personal loss, after leaving Yahoo! Contributor Network and Voices, and Bubblews, people went out on their own to make blogs, try out new sites like HubPages, literacybase, personapaper, and blogjob to name a few. It's been like that for a long while.

I'm sorry to hear that, Anthony. Yeah, we all have those kind of days that takes forever. When I tried to get back on track, I tried dozens of long shots till I found some where it may stick. True calling perhaps? A bit of luck probably helped me there. I hope you can find yours as well. Cheers.
