Why is Yahoo Answers so inane?

Why are there so many silly questions and answers in Yahoo answers? Like "I swallowed a sock, what should I do"? And worse, much worse.

Q: I swallowed a sock, what should I do?
A: Swallow some laundry soap.
Jump up and down vigorously.
When it comes out the other end, it should be clean.

How about: Quickly swallow the other sock so it becomes a pair.

@ourlot Usually one loses one sock and so if they swallow the other one then they won't have one lonely sock.

Because not everybody is serious some people like to have fun and have silly answers why are there so many silly questions and answers here.?
