I have always loved rock and alternative rock, and this song definitely rocks.
Art Alexakis formed Everclear in 1991, and they are still going strong.
Without hearing the lyrics, the song speaks to me. This music is fast and somehow his voice seems on a slower pace. It just works.
He became a heroin addict when he was 13, even though his brother died of an overdose when Alexakis was 12.
The lyrics describe sadness that comes with living through the worst part of addiction.
Thankfully, he became drug free at the age of 26 and today works in drug awareness programs.
I love happy endings, and I love this song.

It’s peculiar how people will pick up a habit that kills someone they love, isn’t it? I’m glad the story has a happy ending, too.
