WHY do we roast dogs?

Not long ago I made a post about the death by suffocation of the dogs because of lack of ventilation on the truck.
Now here we go again about dogs, but as a meal comparing to Lechon or roasted pork.
Not the first time I've heard, read and watch about dogs being eaten here in the Philippines. But this the first time I've seen some one roasting a dog.
I supposed you can't have a dog in the province because neighbors will go secretly hunting your pet.
But then some one commented about going full vegan because you can't really love a dog when you are eating a pig or cow, etc.
Trouble is, veggies are too expensive if it's often bought and takes time to cook and I'm not much of a chef. I do add veggies anytime per week.

That's horrible that someone would steal your dog and eat it. I can't even fathom this info.

Eating dogs looks horrible to me. I know some tribes in North East of India eat dogs.

Hello @dpk262006 Maybe this will end some day.But as long as there's people that thinks dogs as food there will always be something that we could see for a while.

I wont judge dog eaters but I will judge people who stereotype Asians as dog eaters because only few Asian eats dogs.
I wont judge dog eaters as long as they kill the dog in a humane way with no cruelty. I wont eat dog though.

@Letranknight2015 There is actually a European country that eats dogs. In Peru there is a festival for eating cat meat. Venezuelans are now eating dogs because their country struggles to get food because of their economic problems.

Hello @CaptAlbertWhisker Yeah we are mostly discriminated as dog eaters but now we have youtube people realized now that it's not just happening in the Philippines but even in China, S. Korea this also happening.

I hate that people eat dogs (or cats), but I understand there are places in the world where protein sources are limited, so smaller animals then become food. I just wish it weren't so. Very small countries have too little space to raise cattle to feed the entire country and imported beef costs a lot. Chickens are small, but variation keeps meals interesting. I still just wish it weren't so.

i would not even want to look at the attached picture. we have 9 dogs plus 1 from my brother, and i cannot even imagine anybody among them being killed, skinned, and roasted.
i believe too, that dogs bark with fangs showing, to persons who eat dog meat. they smell the bodies of those who eat 'asucena'
