Is not taking breakfast harmful for health. An elderly gentleman in my neighbourhood says, yes,it is. I don't take breakfast, but am fit and well.I don't have any physical problem. On the other hand, one of my friends takes a heavy, nutritious breakfast every morning, but says he is feeling weak. Are you among those who don't take breakfast? If yes,do you have any physical complain?

@Shivram59 lol. That's weird. I guess because you are not really used to eat breakfast that's why.

Breakfast - heavy or light - is a must for me in the morning- because I am really hungry when I get up at 6 a.m.. This is because my dinner is usually very light and I have it before 6p.m. I do not like going to bed feeling full and heavy.

@Kandae11 My doctor often cites a famous adage,"Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper."May be he's true, but I don't at all feel like eating anything- even a single biscuit- in the morning.Still I'm fit and well.

@Shivram59 It all depends on the person. I must eat when I get up because I am usually very, very hungry.

I always eat breakfast, I believe it gives us energy for the day ahead, even a light breakfast.

Yes I have breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day. You should never skip your breakfast. It will affect your mind and body. Have a glass of milk or a fruit at least if you have no time, but never skip breakfast.

@rubyriaz007 I stopped taking breakfast for reasons unknown even to me.All I remember is that one morning I did not feel hungry and so decided not to take anything except a cup of tea.And then this gradually became my habit. However I don't have any physical problems whatsoever.

I do not have breakfast, I seem to be unable to eat (maybe a cup of tea) before 10 - 11am without feeling ill. As I get older, I try to ensure that I have something to eat as early as 10am as I know breakfast is good for the body.

I always don't quite know what to say to discussions like this, because actually everyone eats breakfast, since 'breakfast' is the first meal of the day, regardless of what time you take it. It is said by many that 'breakfast' is the most important meal of the day, because that is the meal that furnishes your body with energy to begin work. A 'heavy' breakfast could make a person feel lethargic and actually hinder their day. I know I have skipped my 'morning meal' before to help lose weight.

Sometimes, I don't eat for breakfast when I'm still full. It happens when I ate a lot during dinner time.

@rina10383 I don't feel hungry after getting up no matter what and how much I had eaten as my dinner the previous night.
