Favorite "New" Songs #7 - "The New"

This one is fairly simple: I am counting down my favorite songs with "new" in the title. We are at #8: "The New" by Interpol.
Interpol formed in 1997 and quickly earned notoriety for bringing back the Joy Division sound, which they did, even though it's not quite accurate. I've heard a little Echo and the Bunnymen in there, while their guitars often remind of those of The Chameleons.
"The New" is a track from Interpol's 2002 debut album, Turn on the Bright Lights (certified gold in both the US and the UK.)
I've linked to the official video for the song, which was also included as a Peel Session on the tenth anniversary of the album.
Enjoy!

That's weird. I would think Interpol would be right in KROQ's wheelhouse.

You've used them before, haven't you? The name and the sound are familiar. Good sound!

If I did use them before, I don't remember doing so.

It's very likely. Interpol was big in the early 2000's.

Never heard it, but the music is interesting, like two songs playing at once, kind of.

I can see that. They do change tempo a few times.
