It's finally warmed up a bit here in Virginia. I'm glad because I need to run some errands tomorrow. It's supposed to be 62 F tomorrow.
As you probably know by now, I like to write about the environment. So I came across this tidbit of information today.
According to the Environmental Action Foundation: "The environment impact of the huge amount of hazardous wastes produce each year has been increasing national concern (in the U.S.) In 1983, (almost 35 years ago) 266 million tons of hazardous waste were generated - (at that time) more than a ton for every person in the United States.'
Now, we have even more to be concerned about, because of "FRACKING." I've written about this before. Oil companies are pumping thousands of gallons of toxic waste into deep holes they have drilled into the earth, endangering the underground water supply.
Water is a VERY important commodity. Just ask the developing countries who do not have access to clean water.
If the underground aquifers are compromised, the U.S. will not have clean water either. Earthquakes are also being increased by "fracking." Oklahoma used to have a few earthquakes per year. Now, they have hundreds, all caused by "fracking."
Fracking is a problem, in many U.S. states. Has your state told you about this problem?
