If you experienced a painful or traumatic event, would you want a pill which could lessen the bad memories of what happened? That option might soon be here because of a drug called propranolol. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Would you want to forget? Don't our memories and things we go through in life define who we are?

I'm not sure if I would want to forget or erase, as it is our experiences good and bad alike that make us who we are, and shape our future. We ALL need to learn from our mistakes and "move on" with our lives ;) Our memories not only define who we are, but what we will be.

They already give you an amnesia shot when you have a colonoscopy. You must be awake to have this procedure done so they use a local anethestic, but you can watch them preform this procedure. They give you the shot in your IV because they say it really is a traumatic experience. I have had to have it done twice, I had the shot. I felt strange for two days, I remember going to have the procedure and I even remember watching, but that is all I remember. So I think this pill would be good if you have a traumatic experience, but it would be bad if it got into the wrong hands.
