the end of the flying plastic bags

the island where i live is divided up into 3 towns..recently,all 3 voted to ban plastic shopping bags.so many of them were blowing around from being improperly thrown away, they were becoming a real problem.
now the choices are paper, reusable,or your own.
i've long used my backpack myself.the plastic ones were so cheap anyway, they'd often break before you got home.
the paper sucks if it rains, but at least you can compost them.
some in town don't like it,but they need to cut down on their one use tab anyhow.
now,if they could just do something about those "fireball" nip bottles scattered everywhere.

I do not like the plastic bags. If a person is carrying something in them; they fall apart real easy.

I use a reusable bag. Good that they agreed on the ban but I wish the people know the proper way to dispose of those plastic bags.

We use reusable bags, although sometimes we forget to bring them with us.

Ah that is a pity that people aren't disposing of them properly. I don't buy garbage bags, but instead use the plastic bags from shopping. SOme of them are real thin

I'm not sure what fireball nip bottles are. That's terrible people aren't disposing of the plastic grocery bags properly. Here in stores they have bins where you can recycle them. I do that with any that rip. The others I use to line my garbage can. I've heard of lots more places lately bannng them.

People just throw the nipper around, that is awful, I hate litter. Don't people realize this is where they live and they are trashing it up?

I think someone invented a bio-degradable plastic for grocery bags, but for me cloth bags are reusable a thousand times before they can be perhaps used to sew into something useful. The last time our city had a bag tax and forced us to buy cloth bags, I tried to go into a supermarket with old plastic bags and the cash register clerk told me I had to remove them as they were not permitted. That made me so angry I wanted to shout, "LOOK, I'm reusing the same bags you guys gave us last week so I don't have to buy any more, but you say I need to get rid of them and buy more cloth bags? This is insane" But I kept my mouth shut.

We reuse those a lot at our apartment, but there's always some we throw away, so I think this is a great idea.
