A lesson learned...

I was reading something a couple of people were sharing with me, and asking why they were not getting a good harvest from what they have sown; and it prompted me to share this...
I have heard it said many times, and some of you may have to: "The bigger the wait. The bigger the wave." This goes for the good, or the bad. It is like planting a seed. When I was a child, I remember our teachers used to give us seeds to plant in a cup with dirt. Most of the time, we saw the fruits of our labor spring up pretty quickly. It was exciting to watch the seed grow! But I noticed that the roots did not go down deep, so it was pretty easy to pull the plant out of the ground, with our fingers. It did not dawn on me until years later, that it was because the roots were shallow.
However, other seeds like an oak tree, seemed to never bloom. The reason is... Because the roots are having to go very deep, in order to support the strength, and height that the oak tree will grow to be... And that takes time. If the roots remained shallow, then once the oak tree grew to maturity, it would topple over with a very slight wind, and/or storm.
So if you are planting good seeds, and still have not seen the fruits of your labor; or you are seeing others "what seems" to be getting away with doing anything, and everything that is not good. Does not mean, you and/or they are not going to reap their harvest. You/they will... It just means your blessings are going to be huge!!! and visa/versa...
Also remember... That bad things do not always mean you reaped a bad harvest. It can mean you are a victim of a cruel world.
You can't plant green beans, and expect corn to grow. No... You are going to get green beans. Just like you can't expect to plant bad and/or good seeds, and never get a harvest.
Remember this... God says there will always be: Seed (planting)... Time (waiting)... Harvest (reaping)... But depending upon what you plant, depends upon the timing of the harvest you will receive.
The timing comes when it will affect us the most, whether good or bad. It could be in this life, or in the life to come, after we are gone from this planet. God says: "Do not let a man be fooled in his heart. For God is not mocked. Whatever a man/woman sows, they reap. If they sow mercy, they will get mercy. If they sow judgement, they will get judgement." (paraphrase) It goes for whatever we sow. A smile. A kind word. A blessing. As well as... Broken promises not kept. Ignoring someone's phone calls and/or emails. Everything we do is a potential seed that will bring some kind of harvest.
"He also says that we will give an account for everything we do." Trust me... We all pay the piper some day.
As mentioned: noone ever gets a way with it, even if it looks like they do. And noone will never not be blessed for the good things they do, either. Payday always comes.
So... If you wonder when will I reap all the good things I have done? Or you might say... It does not matter what I do...nothing will ever happen to me. Be fairly warned: Yes it will.
I often wondered that myself. However... I believe I started seeing the fruits of my labor, many years after. Especially when it came to the blessings. I sometimes would get blessings from the strangest of ways. And others would marvel how it would happen.
There is a scripture in the Psalm that says: "God will prepare a table for us in the presence of our enemies." (Paraphrase). Enemies can be your critics, that can include anyone you may know. It does not always mean people who will physically hurt you. If others keep judging us, and it seems so unfair, and painful. Just remember... Many times God will allow blessings to come to us, to quiet the mouths of our critics. When they think we should be punished or judged; God turns around and shows us mercy, and blessings instead.
Especially...when I experienced being homeless. I should have been dead by now. But I know...God sent me some of my harvest through others (whether I knew them, or not)...to help me get through it. To keep me alive. To give me a motel room to enjoy for a few days, from time to time. Gift cards and cash were given, as well.
Yes... It was very hard sleeping in my car for 2 years. Eating out of dumpsters. But without those little miracles along the way...it could have ended much worse.
So do not lose heart... The fruits of our labor will indeed come. Maybe not in the time we would like it to come; or in the way we would like to receive it. It will come when it will benefit it us the most. Whether blessing us, for all the good we do to help others. Or in lessons...to challenge us to come up higher to: correct the wrongs we have done; or in character building...etc.
However... Remember this... God will never invade the free will he has given us. We can still choose to ignore God's lessons, and at the end of our days, face our judgment then. Better to face it now, and be forgiven, when there is still time to do so....
Also remember: we are going to make mistakes. Hurt others when we did not mean to... And with God there is always forgiveness for that, if we are sorry, and regret the things we have done...
However... Many times our flesh really does not want to face the truth about ourselves. The flaws that need to be corrected. So it is easy to blame others, for the reasons we do what we do. We are afraid to have the light shown in the darkest places of our heart, and past. But God does remind us: "all things hidden in darkness, will come to the light."
It is like when I listened to an interview that was given to David Cassidy, a couple of years ago. He mentioned that being famous was not what it was cracked up to be, and no one should strive for such a position. He lost his entire identity of who he was...
He went on to explain, how he experienced this spiritual presence that came over him. He likened it to a "born again" experience. He grew up going to church, and watching his grandparents read the Bible everyday. The experience brought him to his knees, and he said he just wept like a baby, for hours. But when it was over. He had so much joy.
He was free and not ashamed to admit that he was an alcoholic. That he needed help. He needed to change. It was at that time, for the first time, he started to enjoy life. He decided from then on, that he was going to enjoy life more; love more; and find out who the real David really was... What was his purpose? Why God brought him to this earth...
Though he did not have much time on this earth to accomplish his new goals. God did give him the desires of his heart. The last 3 days of his life in the hospital, he was able to reconcile with his brothers, and other family members he had been estranged with, for so many years.
They say he was very happy at the time of his passing. However... His last words were very profound. Whether he meant to say more, but his life slipped away from him before he could; or it was all he planned to say... They nonetheless were profound. His last words were: "So much time wasted..."
His daughter said those words had such an impact on her, that she was going to change how she treated, and loved people for the rest of her life.
It is sad that this lesson was not learned earlier in his life... But...this just goes to show how much mercy God has for us... He never gave up on David Cassidy, and He will never give up on us.

Very nice! I have had much the same experiences and reactions to what life has presented to me. Thankfully, I learned the lessons early in life and have not wasted my time or life. Yes, I've made some mistakes but overall I've tried to plant some good seeds along the way and I know the harvest has been good and will get better one day. The best is yet to come!
