Songs with "new" in the title is the theme for this particular music series. I am counting down my favorites, and we are at #3: "A New Kind of Assassin" by James Ray and the Performance. Perhaps best known for his participation in Andrew Eldritch's one off Sisters of Mercy side project, The Sisterhood (on which Ray provided vocals, particularly on the fan favorite, "Giving Ground,") James Ray has been quite a prolific musician over the years. In addition to The Performance, the man has founded James Ray's Gangwar, The MK Ultra, James Ray & the Longfolk, and Black Hearted Riders. Oddly, "A New Kind of Assassin" was the title track of a James Ray and the Performance compilation album. This is odd, because the song was not included on that comp. It was released, however, as the B-Side of the band's single, "Dust Boat." "A New Kind of Assassin" leans towards the group's industrial side. I've linked to an audio version of the tune. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

It sounds good, but I feel I can hardly hear the singer at all.

They did kind of mix his vocals sort of low.
