Now, this was something that I never knew until I read it today.
When Alexander the Great, conquered Persia, he ordered 10,000 of his soldiers to marry Persian women to solidify his control.
He also married a Persian woman himself, because he never asked his soldiers to do something that he wouldn't do himself.
I need to do some more research on this. Did you know this?

@IreneVincent I hope they do what is right than stick to those that do not stand to reason.
That was the norm then for certain reasons but we are in a different world now - siva

I guess it was a good idea but how strange that 10,000 men AND women would agree to do it. I wonder if there was a mass wedding with no opportunity to even meet the person you had to marry. I'm trying to picture how this might have taken place and it's just crazy.
