I had cake for breakfast - it's Christmas after all

I looked in the fridge and then on my buffet counter. There was bread, peanut butter, marmalade, eggs and stuff. But I picked the cake - the date and walnut cake I had baked specially for Christmas. Is there a rule that one has only certain foods at breakfast time. Have you broken that rule?

I eat anything for breakfast especially on Christmas day where there are lots of left overs from the Christmas eve meal, they seem to taste better straight right out of the fridge

I would steam them if I were you. I have never liked cold food unless they are a kind of dessert

@allknowing it really depends on the food, some would become soggy when steamed and others would taste different when heated although some would taste better if heated. Holiday ham, cheddar cheese balls, chicken macaroni salad, fruit salad, fruit cakes to name a few tastes much better straight from the fridge upon waking up.

I've had breakfast food at 10 in the evening. The only rule I follow is moderation and nutrition.

I reciprocate sweetly. Are you affected in anyway with that bad weather in the Philippines?

@allknowing Thank you. Fortunately not. The bad weather was somewhere to the south. We are to the north. Here, there was just a bit of rain, but nothing too extreme.

I don’t let my kids eat sweets before lunch but I do it they just don’t know. I don’t care about my health like I do theirs. I think date and walnut cake sounds pretty healthy compared to other cakes so your fine.

You can eat whatever you want for breakfast. I do not know of any rule like that about food.

I don't have any rule for breakfast like that. I will eat any kind of food available for breakfast.
