The hiorses are abused, and this problematic has never had the necessary attention. Within the many barbarisms which these animals are put under we can find: * Constant work during days that go from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. or 24 hours, because they are rented, a wagon by day and another one at night. * Long wprk days, they must drag carts loaded from the north of the city to the south. * Difficult and dangerous maneuvers in the city like raising and lowering to bridges, crosing avenues, avoiding hollows and culverts without cover, etc. * Overload. A horse in average can drag 600 kilos, that includes the cart and maximums 2 occupants. Nevertheless in Bogota to newspaper horses are observed dragging rubbish, heavy pieces, bulks of food and with more than 3 people on board. * Terrible feeding. Sometimes single cradle in carrot. * Bad ironworks. The carts would have to be within the "Movility Plan" of you, Mr. Major Garzón, most of the times causing turnpikes in Bogota. In addition they leave very bad image of the capital, which is in sights to become a modern large city. To the people who handle these vehicles the State has not fulfilled the obligation to offer better and worthy job opportunities, accordding to the policy of the Greater Mayor of a Bogota "WITHOUT INDIFFERENCE". These beautiful animals were created by the nature… * To be enslaved? * To haul carts all the day? * To walk by car routes? * To live surrounded by vehicles? * To breathe the smoke of the cars? * For being objects of our abuse? For that reason the people signing this petiiton on line, demonstrate how worried are thousands of foreigners and Colombians about animal welfare in this city, for that reason we hoped that your answer is soon and provide s solution for this problematic.
