Myster Author Sue Grafton has passed away.

The author who wrote the series of mystery books where each one had something to do with a letter of the alphabet passed away yesterday at the age of 77. Her most recent release Y is for Yesterday came out this past August. She never wrote a Z, because she was undergoing treatments and dealing with declining health. She also stated in a phone interview before her death that she couldn't come up with a story for Z. So there will be no Z book. She died after a two year battle of cancer. Rest in peace Sue Grafton.

I was shocked when I read the news story. I didn't think she was that old, then I remembered how long she had been writing. Sad to loose such a talented author.

I had never read her books but have heard of her. I am sure a lot of people will be picking up her books to read now that she is gone. Sadly it seems like that is the way of things sometimes. I wonder if a ghost writer will pick up and do the last book for her?

I don't know, the family said they didn't want the last one made, because it woldnt be the same if it didn't come from her. Which makes sense to me.

Seems like you have read a few of the books. She was in her twenties or thirties I think when the first book came out.

And she was a Louisville native! She has a Hometown Heroes banner hanging up downtown off one of the hotels. It says "L is for Louisville."
Downtown Louisville will add an air of local mystery to the city scene on Wednesday morning, April 20th, with the 10:30 a.m. dedication of the new Sue Grafton banner
