Do You Journal?

One of the things cognitive therapy offers as an exercise is journaling. By keeping a journal we can track our moods, source of what made us feel that way, and its intensity.
As a young girl, I journaled all the time and even now in a blog, I keep about living with hearing sensitivity. Which reminds me, I need to write an update. My journal blog shares my experience of almost going deaf, having surgery and things I face now with hearing sensitivity. A condition called hyperacusis.
Journaling is a technique those in the medical profession find helpful when dealing with all sort of health conditions. PTSD, migraines, cancer, grief, dieting the list could go on.
Do you journal? And if so is it just to relax and share daily experiences or do you journal for other reasons?

I sometimes write in a journal but I have never been able to get into consistently. I burned my last one considering I had kept it and added to it over a 20 year period and the darn thing still wasn't a third full.

You may have a preconceived idea you're supposed to write a book.lol But a 20-year long journal sounds like you were doing just fine. It doesn't have to be every day or even every week. I think the point at those times you felt you needed to write and depending on what it was it might help you understand yourself and your life better. I only journal when something happens I feel is worth sharing.

Yes, I love to write in a journal. I have a journal for my exercise & food tracking as well as a gratitude journal. I love to express my feelings in writing. Journals give you a safe place to write down your feelings throughout your journey. So what are you waiting for? Grab a pen and your journal...start writing out your goals!
