It seems that life is periodically putting little challenges in my journey. I do regular mammos and always recommend to others that they do the same. In December 2011, I received that phone call that one never hopes to hear. "You have breast cancer". Your emotions go on a rollercoaster. In January 2012, I underwent the lumpectomy. Everything went well, the lump was less than 2cm and nothing in the lymph nodes. A piece of the lump was sent to Genomics in California and the results came back that there was a less then 5% chance of reoccurrence. With that, I only had to do 37 treatments of radiation. In April of 2012, I began Tamoxifen and have been on it since. Tamoxifen can kick you into menopause. So I went over a year, from March 2016 to December 2017, without a cycle. 5 December, my body said "HaHa, fooled ya!" lol For peace of mind, I had the endometrial biopsy done to make sure there is no cancer. Tamoxifen can cause uterine cancer. So now I have to restart the one year count of no cycle in order to be in menopause. Until my blood work reflects a certain count, I will have to remain on the Tamoxifen. But in the mean time, I have no signs of any cancer and life goes on. I still have things I want to do and see and so I do what I must do and go on with my life.

Well in that I am a 6 year survivor, thank goodness that my doctor appts are pretty much few and far between. Wishing you all the best for the new year as well.
