no... till they get mtured enuf, nothing luxurious shud be given to them to play with

i dont think that age matters.one should get a car when he/she can be responsible enough and should be good in driving. the foremost thing should be that the teenager should not be short tempered as mostly are. teens should not have the air to drive rash but rather safe driving is better.

i had to pay for my first car when I was able to drive and my parents paid for half of the insurance as long as I maintained good grades. I think this was fair. It taught me a lot of responsibility at a young age

if they are responsible enough to drive their own cars and if their parents can afford to give them one, then it's totally okey.

My dad bought me my first car only after I was working full time and only because the job I had took me all over Vancouver Island and he couldn't always drive me. When that car was totalled in a hit and run at work he told me I was working so I could buy my own car. He also get me my first cell phone after I was hospitalized by an irrate moterist, also at work. I fell the situation desides what happens but that they should have to work for the car. If that's paying for the gas and insurance or paying for the whole thing. A teen should not get a free ride. Some kind of resposiblity must be put on them to make them respect what they have in a car. To many kids die or are killed by the lack of respect and the ones who live are the adults who fall to respect responibility. It's a touch life lesson for the kids of responible parents but one they will respect you for later. I know I do.

There's nothing wrong with them saving their own money for their first car.

Mine didn't...AS a matter of fact when she turned 16 she got a job so she could get a cell phone.. I would get her one of those either...Just call me mean mommy!
