In Indonesia wherever you go, you will see people selling young coconut on the streets and in restaurants as well. In the restaurants the price of the young coconut drink is twice as much. Pure young coconut water is mixed with slices of its flesh. You may add sugar or milk or fruit like avocado or papaya depending on your taste. To villagers, young coconut drink is common. It's nothing special about it.

Many times I drink it without adding anything. Just water and the flesh sometimes.

It is a very healthy fruit juice. Pure Coconut water is good for detoxing our internal organs especially the kidney.

@josie_ In our place, they don't go around the neighborhood selling it. They stay at one place usually at the side of the road.

It's nice especially when it's a warm day. You can add some fruits and milk according to your taste.

I like this drink very much. But, it should be preferred during winter. Sometimes, we add Rum to it. It tastes good.

Why do they prefer drinking it in the winter?

yes, we have a fresh coconut stand here in my neighborhood even if i live in the city. some like to drink it as is (buko juice). some have it grated to add to fruit salad. in the provinces/rural areas, coconut trees are plentiful and free, but in the cities/urban areas, we pay for it.

It's almost the same as here in Indonesia. In big cities, coconuts are very expensive but in some villages they are just given to visitors for fee.
