Around 10 pm last night, I went outside to put a letter in the mail box. I dreaded the cold but right when I stepped outside, I noticed how big and pretty the full moon was. I thought, it had to be a Super Moon. As I turned around to walk back down the driveway, I looked past our roof over to the tops of the area of the trees and I saw something at a portion of the treetops that glittered and looked lit up by the moonlight. It almost looked like it was past the trees , sitting in the sky. I honestly for a moment thought it was a UFO. I ran into my house and told my son. He ran outside and saw it. We then ran to the back porch and saw it. We determined it was at the tree tops and not a light in the sky. Because it was so dark, we couldn't determine exactly what it was but we thought it could have been glittering residue from fireworks out next door neighbors shot off when the Georgia Bull Dogs beat Oklahoma on New Years Day. Then, this morning as we both woke up and looked outside with the sun shinning brightly, we now know officially what it is. It is a silver 2018 helium balloon someone let go right when the New Year fell. It floated and floated around until it got caught in our tree tops. I wonder who set the balloon off to fly? Now, I am wondering how long it will take to get disentangled from our tree tops. Right now, it is getting more windy outside. That may help.

HA HA! It's funny how you and your son thought it was a UFO! Hopefully, it will slither down during a good rain.

Lol that is funny you thought at first it was a UFO. Just goes to show most things can be found to have a logical explanation in the end.

Yes the balloon is still caught in the tree. I am not sure how it will get dislodged and fall to the ground.
