Jacob King who is 11 years of age is being called a hero by the firefighters of the Glendale Fire Department for taking quick action to alert his family members who were inside their home on Thursday when a fire that began in the shed spread to consume their home. King was taking a break from playing basketball in his back yard with a friend when his friend alerted Jacob that the shed was on fire. Jacob took action to alert his relatives that the home was going to be on fire after the flames spread from the shed to their home. The King family alerted the firefighters of their city to report the blaze. When the firefighters came to the King home, all of the family members were able to escape their home except for their dog Chico who was stuck inside the home before the firefighters were able to rescue Chico and revive him using their special equipment to assist the dog recover from smoke inhalation which is the main cause of deaths in fire disasters. King was modest enough not to take credit for being a hero since if he did not alert his relatives that their home was no fire and he lost them, it would be hard for him to live with himself. The King family lost their home but at this time the American Red Cross is assisting them to find a temporary home.

Me too since it would have been a major tragic event if there were no survivors.

I like the way he admits he is not a hero for saving his relatives from dying in a fire but just doing what is right.

@Deepizzaguy I can understand where it is coming from. I will do the same thing if I am in his shoe.

@Shavkat That is true. That is why I admire this young man. He was not selfish.

He admitted that he did not make an attempt to save his family, he would be heartbroken.
