It’s been a long Christmas break

Canada
January 6, 2018 9:14pm CST
My kids have been off school since just before Christmas. This has meant a big adjustment to all of our routines. My gym added kids programs during the day so I could still do a few classes, but the deep freeze we have been having meant i needed a lot of determination to just get out the door. Outside play time has been non-existent due to the cold, so we are all experiencing some cabin fever. On Monday they go back to school. We can all slide back into our routines and get away from each other for a bit. Hopefully it’s a smooth adjustment, with only a few hiccups. And they are saying it will finally warm up next week. I can’t wait!

Here Christmas break is 2 weeks long. If it wasn’t -20 Celsius, we wouldn’t have been in the house quite as much.

@Morethanamom id hate for break to be more than a week. That just sounds crazy and wrong.

@Courtlynn as a kid, it wasn’t long enough! It’s better when Christmas isn’t one of the first few days. Then there isn’t too much downtime after the holidays.

The weatherman is saying that it will be warmer in the next few days. I have to see it to believe it.

I've managed most days to get the princess outside for anywhere from 15-45 minutes....I've had to accompany her. Going for a walk....that just hasn't happened. I need it to warm up just a bit so I can resume my daily walks. On a positive note...I've manage to get some sewing done.

Went back to work days ago. I didn't feel my Christmas vacation since I had to work from home.
