Happy MLK Day! Besides no work or no school, how do you plan on spending today? Go ahead...I will allow you to ponder this question for a bit. For me, I usually like to volunteer or take my children to a local MLK event. Unfortunately, I am sick so we are not going out in this bitter cold weather. Instead, we are going to enjoy one another and do some research on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I am going to ask my children to write about him from their own perspective. You will be surprised how much your children grow from year to year. Even though most schools do not teach black history, I feel it is extremely important for you to know the whole truth about what happened in our past. That is the only way you learn and grow. Any how, you had plenty of time to think about your response to my opening question, right? Make it a point to be kind to others not just today, but every day. Help a neighbor, volunteer, or just give a positive compliment to someone. A kind gesture goes a long way. I cannot wait to hear your responses. Until next time, be blessed and have a productive day!

I'm not sure about going out today. The roads look awful and its cold. I agree that knowledge of history is important. That's that dont know it might repeat past mistakes.
I hope to paint some kindness rocks with kids today!p
Enjoy your day
