Melanie Hasse is thankful that Hobart Police Officer Richard Mayer was in a Chick-Fil-A store at the same time since her young toddler Charlotte Hasse was eating an apple when the apple got stuck inside her throat and she began to choke.
Melanie then approached Officer Mayer and his partner Officer Ramos assisted Charlotte by hitting her on the back to dislodge the small piece of apple out of her throat so she could breathe once again.
Officer Mayer said it was his first act of a police officer which he will remember for a long time that he did to save a human life by being at the right place at the right time.

Wow! That is a very noble act. Chocking can be quite devastating and frightening.
