This is my senior year and I am so excited to finally graduate. Im just nervous about getting older. I dont want to get lost in this crazy world. I Am not ready to take care of myself. I am so used to being babied by my family. Can yall give me advice about how to deal with this?

I can't understand that a young man or woman (no idea what you are and where you live) doesn't want to leave home and experience life on their own.

@darrayl8 Can't you leave home and live together with a classmate or a friend at the beginning? That would be a compromise.

No I do want to leave home. I am just scared to be alone and tackle life issues by myself.

The best way to learn is to jump out there yourself. Dont be afraid to try everything. Being 18-19 is similar to entering Kindergarten, everything is new and exciting. Dont spend your time at home. Get out, try different fields of work, travel, study whatever you want, fall in love...do it all now while you're young. You don't want to end up like those confused 30/40 yr olds that never got out and now they don't know what to do with their lives. Best of luck to you!

Thank you so much and Yes you are right. Some of my family members are still living with their parents while being cuddled.

@darrayl8 No problem. Best of luck to you. Enjoy it! I had so many great adventures and experiences. I'm only 24 so of course I still have lots of time to continue to do so. But looking back at my first few years out of high school, they were the best! And I moved out a few months after I graduated at age 18.

My kids didn't just jump out into the world after graduating but they did get jobs while staying in my home, saved money and went on to better things. They went on to higher education all while living at home then they moved on and out to great careers. There is nothing wrong with taking time to leave the nest but you need to be independent and not expect to be babied for too long. My kids have always taken care of themselves, while in my home. Good luck in your future endeavours.

Enjoy being babied while you can, because one day you may miss it.

Enjoy being an adult. It's exciting to grow up because you could explore lots of things.
