Tax Refund Delays Again This Year

Once again the IRS will be delaying tax refunds to those claiming earned income credit (EIC) and child tax credit. The estimate date will be February 27th. It's a shame that people cheat on their taxes and cause problems for others, but if the delay can weed out the cheaters, then I suppose it is worth it. I've never gotten more the a few thousand in refunds even claiming three children, but I've heard of others getting back over $10,000 just for one child. Doesn't seem right.

I typically wait til late February to file anyway. The ones that typically cheat are the first to file, I have noticed when I wait, I dont have any issues. I am excited because this is the first year I will be claiming a child and I heard you get about $2-3,000 back. $10,000 sounds extremely high.

When I was self employed I would do it earlier.

We have never earned the EIC and I have not heard of anybody getting $10,000 back. Taht is a huge amount! Wonder how much one would have to pay in to get that? Is it people that calculated their taxes way wrong for their employers to take out?
