I have a portrait of my dad that I shot with my old Nikon d800 I used to own. This is closer too the time when he was healthy and not sick, He had a big white beard and wavey white hair plus silky blue eyes, He was a very awesome dad, I miss him dearly, He passed away around Christmas 2016 from Terminal brain cancer in the frontal lobe of the brain, I had to take care of him for several months where he would fall straight down and he even sent an end table through the wall and he broke his ribs that day, I had to go through the times when he would hollusinate and fight my assistance, I've had to pick him up whenever he fell, He would try to take my medications instead of his, And after a while I had to walk to the hospital and get the doctor to ammit him into their care as he was not doing too well, I've tried calling the paramedics in the past and they wouldn't take him because he wasn't suicidal which is total BS, My dad was the best person in my life and for a while after he passed I felt lost and lifeless, Since then I've matured and learned life and now I try to help my siblings accept it while they go through their problems and regrets of his passing. His name was Ronald Earl St Louis Sr, He was born 1948 and passed in 2016, RIP , I will always love you dad.

@TwentySevenSins Taking care of him or just being with him at the lowest point of his life ,for me was good enough to say that you did a good job.

@cttolledo Thanks, back when he was in the hospital he did an old trick to me that I was certain he wasn't able to do because of his state, He put his finger under my chin and I looked down and he swiped up and tapped my nose, It's an old gesture he used to do and it made me happy that he still remembered that lil joke between us, He was so different in other terms as he couldn't do much because he was mostly a veg

I’m so sorry for your loss, and for what you had to endure in taking care of him at the end of his life. It’s terrible how our healthcare shows little care for the older people (I’m dealing with that right now with my dad’s dementia) and/or the terminally ill.

It's hard to care for those terminally ill as not only is it full of unusual behavior, but the lack of support is daunting, It's good to hear that you have moved into a better place and are such a support to your siblings. I lost a parent last year and one 10 years ago. It's never easy.
