Learning to Swim--Day 12

Today was another cold winter afternoon to walk to the gym and back on snowy and icy sidewalks. I did bundle up to stay warm from the 28 degree weather we had with plenty of sunshine. I did walk on and off the sidewalks and made it in time to hit the pools with Paige. Since I didn't get a chance to do a practice lap in, five minutes before we started our next lesson, I did finish five minutes earlier than planned. And that's all right with me. I've warmed up with a lap of the regular backstroke and the elementary backstroke, both with the front crawl. Then I've practiced breathing for the front stroke in the water and on the wall with two kickboards for the freestyle. When set, I was all set to go for it. I did 2 half-laps of the breast stroke, though I did go a bit too fast, I did manage to breathe better. I also did a half-lap of the freestyle and did manage to breathe better too. Then came the fun part. The second half of that half lap, I did a half-lap of the backstroke. Then I did two full laps of the backstroke. And then I finished two full laps of the elementary backstroke. Both strokes done with a turn at the wall to push off from, though it's a bit off and needs a bit work for next time in my opinion. No class next Tuesday, since Paige has a doctor's appointment. So we'll see what happens next week. I've texted Rachel with a short text and hope to hear back from her tonight.
