Art Nouveau or Jugendstil (as it is known in German-speaking countries) was a style of decorative arts, marking the turn of the 20th century. Art Nouveau originated in France and soon spread through Europe. Soon you could see this style on Paris metro stations and Helsinki’s main railway station as well as other buildings across European countries.
Today the best Art Nouveau examples can be seen on buildings in Riga, the capital of Latvia. Here you’ll find more than 800 Art Nouveau buildings scattered all over the historic center. The most striking examples can be found along Elizabetes or Elizabeth Street and Alberta or Albert Street. These buildings include buildings by Mikhail Eisenstein the father of the famous director Sergei Eisenstein.
I have often walked past these building and as you can see in the photo wondered what those faces are screaming about.
How many of you have seen Art Nouveau buildings? If any of you have photos of this style please share them below.

@RasmaSandra That is a really unique building. I don't have many of those types of buildings near me, or I would definitely sight see a lot.

Where I was born Georgian style houses and buildings were constructed in bits and pieces around the place but I don´t have any photos of them as most of them are big private houses anyway.
Nice buildings though and thank you for sharing this kind of art.

Tiffany was influenced art nouveau. Art deco would replace it.
