American FOOTBALL - where is Soccer??? - Sport
OH VERY TRUE!!!! When I see a post on www.mylot.com about football I used to go straight to it!!!! But now I have to check the Profile of who posted the Item first to see if they are European or American. If it is American then they mean Football American Style....... Strange the English language isnt it??

those are crisps, chips are the ones that look like fingers (sort of). Scallops are the same shape as these (slices of fried potatoe). I am in England and often notice the differences in how language is used when I see American films.

In England the chips are what the Americans call "French Fries". It's amazing how the same words are used in different ways. I believe someone said that the "trunk" of a car is called a "boot" in England.

An English "Car Boot Sale" - Rubbish for sale!!
Yep..... That is absolutely correct.... And we have things called.... "Car boot sales" !!!!! Imagine ........ The first time I saw the sign for "car boot sale" I thought it was a load of "car boots" for sale!!!! For our American cousins..... This is where a load of people turn up, open the "Trunk" of the car and sell stuff that they dont want!!!
