What is the name? How big it is? Is it a tourist spot?

Probably in big cities, waterfalls may not be there. Usually waterfalls are found near forests where there will be source of water which runs into streams. Thanks for your response.

Near my place "Mettur Dam" ,The Mettur Dam has been constructed in a gorge, where the River Kaveri enters the plains. The dam is one of the oldest in India., It provides irrigation facilities to Salem, Tiruchirappali and Thanjavur district for 2,71,000 acres of farm land. There is a lovely park close to the dam. Big industrial units are also located here. Another dam around Salem is the Kodiveri Dam, which is near Gobichettipalayam, a beautiful picnic spot and a good place for film shootings.

One should not encourage students to bunk classes and come there to play. They should be advised to attend the classes and after the school/college they can come and play. Thanks for interesting response.

Jog Falls which has a height of 292 metres (approx, 900 feet) is very lovely place to visit particularly in rainy season. This fall is due to the river SHARAVATHI and this is brim during rainy season and hence the water fall is so exhuberant, you feel like watching it for hours and hours.

In my province (Karnataka, India) there are hundreds of water falls. A few are world famous. Jog Falls situated in Shimoga District and Shimsha in Mandya district. In fact Shimsha has a lovely water falls, my family members intend to visit next sunday. Here India's first hydroelectricity station was established by famous engineer Sir. M.Visveswariah way back in 1900. It is working in excellent condition even today. Water fall looks like as if someone is pouting milk.
