Should marijuana be legalized?

Contending for some legal space

Some states in the USA have recently legalized marijuana although by federal law it is still illegal. The Netherlands, Spain, North Korea and Uruguay are some countries where it is already legal. In my country Nigeria, it is illegal to take marijuana. Despite the fact that marijuana is known to cause permanent adverse changes to the brain, these countries have gone ahead to legalize it. What do you think? Should marijuana be legalized?

"Permanent adverse changes to the brain"? Can you provide a citation or two?

@mydanods Yep. The research seems to suggest no long-term negative effects. But I did read about slowed reaction time, etc. I never smoke pot before softball or other athletic activities.
