I Adore Rats!

Some people probably went "Eww" to my title.
But truly, I do! I've had many rodents as pets in my life, and rats have been the best and sweetest ones to me so far! I've had rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, mice. Although some of them were sweet, they have never been as cuddly and clingy as my pet rats have been!
I recently was impulsive when I went to the pet shop with my girlfriend, and ended up buying a new rat cage, food for them, and two rats! (Since it's never a good idea to only buy one if you do get rats.)
Two little girls though, Juno and Luna!
They are cuddly, and they are always bruxing. Which is a rats way of 'purring'. It's truly adorable!
I guess it's matter of opinion, but I'll always be a fan of having rats as pets. Sad thing is though, they don't live very long. 3 years normally. So you don't get to spend as much time with these little sweeties. Which is also heartbreaking when they pass...
Oh, and I think Luna is pregnant. We just figured that out today. We got two girls, but it probably happened at the petstore. Because man is her belly growing, wayyyy faster than Juno's! Guess we'll see...
Anyone else have or had rats as pets?

Yeah, years ago before I ever had rats as pets I would of been like, "Rats?? Really!? Nah, I'll get something else!". But now, I just completely love having them as pets! They are sweet.
Thank you!

They are cute. Little cuddle bugs! They aren't the same kind of rats that you get in your house crawling around. Pet rats are smart, and can even learn tricks.

@x0MandyLynn0x Thats pretty cool! I think it would be fun to teach them tricks.

Not as pets. This autumn we did have a rat that somehow made its way into our house. We evicted it.

Well they can be pets if you get them at the pet store. Wouldn't recommend ever getting a rat that is from the sewers or anything!

Yeah that's the first reaction most people do. Even my aunt did in the past with my old rats, until she was around them more and she said they are actually sweet little girls, and held them.
Well haha! I don't put these rats in my mouth. But they do give kisses on my cheek if I hold them up near my face. It's sweet when they do that actually!

Those aren't the same as these little ones. Pet store rats are friendly and make good pets, just many people think the worst of them I guess.

These are some of the cutest little ratties I've ever seen.
I've never had a pet rat, but I had gerbils when I was small. They were cute too. ^_^
