A question: Do we most live with memories or hopes and why?

There's a Greek proverb saying that people live more with hopes than with memories, do you agree with this and why, if not how you interpret it?

i think most people are afraid and better have hopes than the risk to create a bad memory

I think it's true because when we desire something and really want it then we keep our hope alive and we forget about the past memories of failures.

Hi and Welcome Katerina For me that would be a combination of dreams and hopes together because there will be always something I will want to achieve or hope: for example to hope that more and more people won't eat animals.

I agree. We have more hope than memories. Hope is better than a bad memory. And it's more important.
