Kids, teachers and staff pick up colds, cough flu, lice and other things from school. Sad, but true. It happens! However any of those things can be picked up by anyone, from anywhere. Such as a hospital, the doctors office, grocery stores, other stores, the bus, school bus, cab, restaurant, library and the air for that matter! Not too long ago a friend of mine saw a couple in a grocery store picking lice from their daughter's hair and throwing it on the floor! However their are parents that will not allow their child to play with or be around a certain child or person because they think that that is where they picked up the flu or lice from.. That is sad! Why does someone have to be at fault? Now if it is a serious disease, like something sexually transmitted by an adult then people they could of transferred it to need to be warned. A while back th ere was a man that dirtied a noureedle with AIDS and placed in in the back of a seat at the theater and when this lady that he did not even know sat in the seat, sat back and was injected by the needle!. This was just plain mean and cruel And this was a violent act and he was punished from what I understand. But when your child comes home from school and has a runny nose, cough or lice do you automatically start going on about who to blame because this is costing you money for meds and time. Not to get money from that person but to yell at someone and tell them that your child cannot see them again?

That happens. People react to things in different ways. I guess you can say why a lot of us are not the same in our way of thinking.

Honestly, being someone who had lice alot growing up because other parents werent keeping their kids home from school when they had lice, yes i do blame. Because it really is someones fault. But id never say my kids couldnt play with another kid. They just wouldnt be able to til they were both clean form the lice. Colds and coughs are different to me than lice.

I think lice is so digesting and it is a lot of work to treat everyone in the house and kill all the eggs in the bedding etc. Kids aren’t likely to catch live at school it’s usually spread by sleepovers etc.

I have heard that many kids catch it at school. I also received notices of kids having it from the schools that my kids went to. And sure it is disgusting, but why does it necessarilly someones fault?

To me it is only someone's fault if they know their kid has lice and allows other kids over to play not caring if it will be spread. Childrens heads are also supposed to be picked free of any bugs before sending them to school.

Thankfully we've never gone through the lice thing. But something like colds and flus - yah, that can come from anywhere. In a place like school - oh the germs are just anywhere and everywhere - it's one big petri dish . . . but so are any public places where people are around. We can suspect that we were exposed to germs at a particular place, but we can't really blame it on a person . . . we don't really know. To stop a child's friendship over that is silly!
