Olathe Firefighters rescue a dog on a frozen pond in Kansas

Diane and Jerry Pollitt who are the owners of a Wheaton terrier named Willow who was walking around the neighborhood before she wandered into an icy pond and she could not escape since she was stuck in the mud on Friday. Kevin Hilboldt who is an employee of the Olathe Firefighters put on his protection suit to get into the pond where the dog was trapped when the ice she walked on broke. The hardest part of rescuing Willow was due to the mud that covered the firefighter up to his waist. However Willow only suffered a few bruises despite being in the cold weather for a while. Willow was reunited her owners after Hilboldt rescued the dog from drowning or being frozen to death in the pond.
