I don't know about most of you, but for me growing up I admire Chris Brown. I loved all his albums. I was a fan of Rihanna as well. When I found out he beat her I lost respect for both artists. I still enjoyed Chris Brown's music, but I lost taste in Rihanna's. I knew there was two sides to every story.
I found a documentary about Chris Brown's life on Netflix. He finally shared his side of the story. What I liked most was how honest and real he was about his mistakes. He did not sugar coat nor play the victim. He knew he was wrong and even turned himself in and plead guilty. Rihanna was definitely a monster to him as well, despite how innocent he tried to make her sound.
While I don't condone any man placing his hands on a women, I have respect for Chris because he owned his mistakes, battled depression and drug abuse after prison, and eventually went to rehab.
Now he is clean, a loving father, and still an amazing artist with a positive outlook on life.
Anyone can change for the better, no matter how bad your past was.Don't let it define who you are now, use it to make yourself stronger.
