Chinese New Year

February 17, 2018 3:32pm CST
Chinese New Year is the first day of the New Year in the Chinese calendar. The highlight events of the Chinese New Year festivities in Chinatown are the parade for the celebration of the Year of the Dog, and the long, snaking dragon dance winding their way through the streets together with the lion, which took place last Februay 16, 2018. Different nationalities were among the excited crowds, cheering and celebrating with our Chinese community. It was an event that filled the streets with sparkling lanterns and new year decorations. Flamboyant floats, performers from different schools and organizations make their way through the historic streets of Chinatown. To everyone, Kung Hei Fat Choi!

The celebration here was postponed to Tuesday by the city government due to bad weather.
