Do kids know how to be kids anymore?

Do your kids know how to play? So many are obsessed with computer games, mobile phones, ipads etc that if you asked them to go and play outside and climb a tree they would probably say ' i can't'. Of course times are changing and we technology improves imagination seems to be have gone out of the window when it comes to children.... anyone else agree?

Playing online games is still 'playing.' So what do you mean by your question?

In regards to playing outside, getting dirty, climbing trees, making dens etc.... using their imagination

@toniganzon Physical exertion is good for them, not too much sitting.

Using those technologies will not harm them as long as they know the purpose of each and the limits of usage

Yep, my grand kids don't have a clue what imagination is and are always in front of something technical. I have to go over and take them out and make them leave their cells and tablets at home.

It's sad, seeing young people so inactive. They are either staring into a computer screen or playing with a telephone. Either way, they aren't doing very much physically. Some kids are pretty active, but not most of them!

I don't live in a city and my kids are used to go outside everytime the weather allows it, to play with our dog, ride their bicycles and play with the neighbors. They both have a tablet but they know they a a daily limit to use it.

Out door games have become obsolete for them now dear @pablina ! They have got their own teams which have expertise in playing these games like foot ball, Rugby etc which they watch and enjoy either on TV or on their smart phones! I bet most of the children of today may not know how to fly a kite or spin a top with the thread! For that matter I am not sure they know marbles were initially made to play with? I pity these kids! Times are changing so are the kids! Thanks!
