Officials with the Union County Sheriff's Department and the Knoxville Volunteer Emergency Rescue Service (KVERS) were able to save a hound dog named Tanner who fell down a 30 foot deep hole near a nature reserve in Lake Norris Tennessee on Saturday.
Tanner who had a GPS device so he could be located was lost on Friday. His owner contacted the Union County Sheriff's Department to try to recover his pet dog.
When the deputies found the dog trapped inside a 30 foot hole, the deputies asked the officials of the KVERS to attempt to rescue the dog.by sending four officials to rescue the dog by using a rope a mile long with two members doing down the pit to rescue the dog successfully.
Thanks to the work of the authorities, Tanner was rescued from suffering a painful death and returned to his owner on Saturday afternoon safe and sound.

That's just wonderful that Tanner was saved. He had the GPS chip with him to make things so much easier to locate and save him too.
Love happy endings!

Why did they have such a deep hole, near that nature reserve? That's terrible, a child could fall into the hole, also!

It is scary that there was no signs warning anyone of the deep hole trap.

@alandi The ones who left that dangerous hole open, should be made to close it.
