Stressful work day in the office but when you come home and watch the television it brings me more stress because of the killings & corruption. Can't it be therapeutic?

I find watching the news very stressful. I avoid reading newspapers too as they are very depressing.

To be honest I don't like watching TV anymore. I find the net more entertaining than TV. I can do a lot more online than watching TV.

I think what you decide to watch can tell if it will be therapeutic or not.

@zearay moneysaver, I can see why that would cause you stress. Maybe watch something funny and see if that helps you.

Your right. I like to watch evening news before having dinner. But I stop few weeks ago because news like (killings & corruptions) added to my stress.

Depends on what you see. Me, I agree with Lori Moore. You have to turn it off. But if yoou can't, you should choose shows or programs that will calm you down instead of stressing you. No news, please, at least for one night. Try to find something to make you laugh.

I think watching cartoons than news are way better than watching anything on tv.
