Condensation - house argument number two!

So yesterday it was kettles and today its condensation, another pressure point in household politics but can do far more damage than a blown fuse. Our heating bills are super high in England and with a cold snap coming with an open ended Arctic blast on the way the arguments will begin, especially over having the heating on. We pay around £1200 a year for gas and electricity and heating the home the number one for arguments in family homes here in the winter. As all men know women are either hot or cold and nothing in between, the way they blow. The level of condensation in the house or apartment is the residue effect of those rows, and, as always with women, they don’t agree on how condensation is formed in the house. Men use common sense. If we go back to the kettle and boil it up the water turns to steam as it leaves the kettle and then turns back into moisture in the cooler kitchen air. It’s called the water cycle and responsible for life on Earth. Therefore, if the bathroom is steam after a shower then you need to open a window, even in the coldest of winters, to vent that off. Men though will then close that window as the job has been done as the bathroom temperature returns to the house temperature. Women, especially older ones, have different ideas about condensation. They want those windows open ALL WINTER long and so that expensive heating the men of the house tend to pay for is literally wafting out the window like dollar bills. The thing is there are no set temperature differences for bad condensation to form in the house. It’s the difference between the two that does the chemistry. If the house is 20 degrees and its 5 degrees outside and the small top windows are ajar sucking in cold air it just makes the house cooler and so arguments start. I just don’t get why women want the bloody windows open when it’s cold outside and warm inside? When I go around me mums house there is always a window ajar when it’s cold and the central heating on. It’s what her mom did when she was kid so they never questioned it. Sometimes when we go around for a meal she won’t have the heating on at all and when we moan that its really rather cold, she doesn’t say the heating is off because she is saving money, but because she didn’t have central heating in the Second World War as it wasn’t invented and so we should not have it either? The audacity to exploit modern technology and not suffer like our parents did seem to be a big part of their psyche. So what are your thoughts on controlling condensation? Obviously a lot of you South East Asian guys here on mylot don’t need central heating, and most of you have low electricity bills by wiring up the house to the nearest street lamp and getting it free. Hey, I have seen the news reports and know what you get up to! I have seen all of those cables going over the street into your free satellite dishes.lol. But for us Northern hemisphere cats its expensive and so we can’t afford to have that bloody window open.

I heard that from some women, they like the heat at full blast and the window open. It does seem weird to me also, maybe it makes them sleep better or something. Definitely cannot be very cost effective.
