I know, the suspense has been killing me too! We have reached Top Dog status in my countdown of my favorite record producers, and #1 is none other than Trevor Horn. The odds are pretty good that you've run across Trevor Horn at some point. You've either heard him as a member of The Buggles (hands up if you remember "Video Killed the Radio Star,") Yes, or The Art of Noise, but it's as a producer that Trevor Horn really shines. Horn has won three Brit Awards, a Grammy, and is a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE.) His production resume is long. Check out some of the albums produced by Horn: The Lexicon of Love by ABC, both Welcome to the Pleasuredome and Liverpool by Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Slave to the Rhythm by Grace Jones, Street Fighting Years by Simple Minds, Flowers in the Dirt by Paul McCartney, 90125 by Yes, and six different albums by Seal. He also did "Do they Know it's Christmas?" By Band Aid. Horn is also a major owner of ZTT Records, Sarm Studios, and the music publishing company, Perfect Songs. The man pretty much has the musical Midas touch, and has produced a hell of a lot of my favorite albums over the years. Which, of course, makes him #1 in my book. I forgot about Trevor Horn! Probably the top new wave producer. I was thinking Nile Rodgers.

It was very hard to leave Nile Rodgers off of this, believe me.
