In nutshell, I would urge the government to rethink on the following educational policies. • Include skill development as a strong component in the financing of primary and secondary education, through the setting up of at least 200 skill training centers per year in the coming 10 years. • Create at least five polytechnics with full academic, administrative and financial autonomy. • Establish strong public private partnership systems with good representation from both groups, in the creating and the management of high quality intuitions. • Give due respect and stature to some noble efforts irrespective of who are involved in developing them. They could be in the areas of medical college; college of technology, autonomous deemed University type institution, or polytechnic. • Giving mandate alone is not enough, provide desired supports until the time they have achieved heights. • Create at least five institutions which can have 10-20% foreign students and up to 10% foreign faculty. Then only the institutions would achieve international stature. • If high quality institutions are desired, huge investment is required. Think about giving adequate financial security, suitable governing authority and appropriate legal status.
