What do you normally do when you sit at your desk feeling very sleepy?

A brief description of the photo: It's one of my normal sitting postures at my computer desk, managing to mix preparing lessons with practicing yoga, in my living room which also serves as one of my two classrooms. I name the postural movement ‘I am terribly busy-get away from me!’ With an aura of confidence, I sometimes feel like the king of the jungle who is drop-dead gorgeous. I not only take up yoga to aid relaxation, but also fight against a feeling of drowsiness which creeps over me once in a while. When I was showing off how well I did it the other day to my trainees and their parents who were siting in on the class, one of my trainees, a 10-year-old girl,Elsa exclaimed in surprise to give it a whirl. Simba, a boy who is one years older than Elsa, standing beside her reminded her fondly, ‘Beware of being infected with Clay's beriberi!’

Do you teach Photoshop as well? Actually my tongue in cheek question betrays my envy of your body flexibility. At 61, is it still possible to regain that level of pliability?

@ClayNCE _I still jog in the early morning hours and do some calisthenics. But I was more active in my youth and practice some martial arts when Bruce Lee still have not hit the scene.

It depends. In fact, It is a very real problem that I have only a limited period at a thorough training. It takes me months to adapt myself to the posture. I believe in the saying, no pain, no gain. But I disagree with taking anything to extremes. Hang in there and we never know what we might achieve.

I get myself a cup of coffee. Then I take a break with my coffee, exercise my eyes, blinking. If that doesn't work I add my eye drops, rest a while sipping my coffee. I know what you mean when sleep creeps over you. I can be sitting doing my work with my laptop and my eyes just closes and doesn't' want to open. I stop, close everything down...love multitasking and shut down my laptop. Turn off the tv, turn off lights and to to sleep for everything can wait till tomorrow.

I couldn't put my leg in that position to save my life. When I'm sleepy at my desk I get up and walk around or go to the kitchen and get a cup of tea. That usually wakes me up enough to go back to work.

@ClayNCE I guess she told you and did not let you get away with what you said about yourself.

Thank you. I used to be a guy who had various lame excuses. Just like a damaged plane spiraled down to the ground.

@Hannihar A busy bee, sometimes, in bad company. The moment I open my eyes, I sometimes feel nervous -- Wow! Much remains to be done...

Love it, bear it. That's it. This is a process of long term accumulation, in which unremitting efforts are indispensable. Stretching exercises really do us a power of good. Begin with any simple postures and guarantee us the amount of training. Just do it.
