What is your opinion on your parents?

My parents are two poles apart. My mum is a reflective person and loves to bake and cook. She is very sentimental. She works very hard and doesn't take nonsense from us kids. My dad although he is a disciplinarian likes to play with us. My mum doesn't do that. I have come to have a bonding with him more than my mum. Although I open up more to my mum than my dad because my mum is the one who asks after our relationships and little secrets. My dad is my friend while my mum is the one to go to when trouble brews. What is your opinion of your parents? What would you have liked to change about any of your parents?

It would have been nice for us to just get along. That's no longer an option, since they are no longer living.

I hoped you enjoyed their training and direction while they were alive?

@mydanods I will not comment on that. That part of my life is over. Not everyone has good parents.

Between your father and your mother, who is your closest friend? My father is mine.

@ridingbet I love hearing it when people speak in glowing terms of their parents. It shows some parents are living up to their responsibilities.

Mine are both gone now as you know but when I look back my dad was the one who was strict and my mum softer with my sister and myself. I clashed with my dad a lot but when I look back he was only trying to keep me safe. I thought he was trying to spoil my fun. Now I am a parent myself I can see why he wouldn't let me do certain things.

Both my parents are gone now and I miss them a lot. They were very "no nonsense" people and I am glad as I am like this too.

They must have influenced you a lot in your life. That is very good. Keep it up and sorry that they are gone. You will see them one day in the resurrection.
