Expansion joints in Travertine tiling

I have a situation where our original Travertine tiles were laid on a (suspended) concrete slab floor (area = 9mx6m) 4 years later the slab has exibited "creep" or "sagging" which our engineer tells me is normal over this area. When the original tiles were laid they were butted one to the other with no provision for expansion joints, so recently in the centre of the floor a 2mx2m area has "popped up". I am taking up a 4mx3m section of tiles and relaying them with expansion jointing at the edges. Now the question, how big should the joints be, what material is best to fill them, are they unsightly, should I put a cover strip on the top?? Any advice greatfully recieved. Paul

Absolutely! I hear there is also a relatively new product on the market that is actually a grout but silicon based as your are describing. I would definitely ask around at your local Home Depot and make sure the person you are speaking with seems knowledgeable about tile setting. Good luck!
