It is very unusual for firefighters and police in Urbandale Iowa to play a game of ice hockey at the Bucs Arena to do their part to beat cancer in a charity event that happened on Saturday evening.
It did not matter who won the ice hockey game that much since it was to raise money from the paying customers who paid to see the ice hockey exhibition as well as the sponsors of the event,
The money raised from the ice hockey charity event was $50,000 that will be going to H 8 cancer research program.
Just for the record the firefighters beat the police by a final score of 9-3.

It really was a nice gesture from both the police and firemen.

Thanks so much George. I love the stories you share with us. It is so nice to have something nice instead of the bad that invades our lives everyday.
